Develop Koubru Laimphanlen as cultural heritage site: Lup

The Kwai Nungseng Sintha Lup Khansi (KNSLK), Yaiskul has urged the State Government to develop Koubru Laimphanlen (worshipping place) as a cultural heritage site.
KNSLK also condemned the demolition of a bridge leading to Mount Koubru and burining down of a Sanamahi Lainingthou shirne's caretaker by some miscreants recently.
It is to be noted here that 4 suspects involved in the 2 incidents have aleady been picked up by the State police for interrogation.
Briefing journalists at Manipur Press Club today, KNSLK president, Leishemba Tensuba stated that the lup's volunteers have been looking after the Sanamahi Lainingthou shirne at Mt Koubru since April 21 as the caretaker has refused to do so, following the fire incident.
He also said that the volunteers of KNSLK will continue to guard the sites sacred to Meetei/Meitei at Mt Koubru till the Government develop it as a cultural heritage site.
Leishemba Tensuba further expressed desire for the State MLAs to contribute in constructing Sanamahi shrine at the mountain from their Local Area Development Funds and install solar lamps.
Meanwhile, Paoboi Kipgen who identified himself as the chief of T Lhangnom Village stated that he supports construction of Sanamahi shrine at Mt Koubru.
