Imphal, November 21 2011:
Movement for Tribal People's Rights Manipur (MTPRM) submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister O Ibobi, who also holds Tribal Development and Hills portfolio, urging him to reconsider the decision regarding allotment of vendor seats at the newly constructed tribal marketshed located at New Lambulane.
Saying that there are about 33 different tribal communities in the State, the memorandum asserted that there is possibility of deprivation of opportunity for some minority tribal communities if the proposed lottery system is strictly followed without working out a specific seat allotment modality.
