'Asufii Talk' conducted at Asufii Christian Institute

Research Cell, ACI on Wednesday organised the first "Asufii Talk A discussion with the Author" at Asufii Christian Institute in Senapati district.
Rev Dr Fr William Nepuni, general secretary (Mao Academy) and Principal of St Xavier's College, Senapati, took off the 'Asufii Talk' with an insightful exploration of his book, " A Socio-cultural History of Shiipfomei Naga Tribe" .
The book provides a deep insider's view on the origin, migration and departure of the different Naga tribes and particularly the four kindred groups namely, Ememei, Lepaona, Paomata and Chiiluve.
It also explores the oral traditions, socio-cultural, socio-religious, socio-politics and socio-economic life , of Shiipfomei Naga tribe and its untold history expressed through dance, music, folktales, folk songs, etc.
The Talk began with a welcome speech from Athishu, vice principal of ACI while Dr Sahiinii, the HOD of English Department presided over the talk as the moderator.
The speaker gave an overview of each chapter of the book, after which he was flooded with questions by the young inquisitive minds.
The 'Asufii Talk' is an initiative of the Research Cell (ACI) which was introduced recently to give opportunity to the students of ACI and others to directly interact and exchange dialogues with the Authors.
