Weaving, food processing residential course kicks off

A 3-month Residential Course on Weaving and One Month Course on Food Processing kicked off on Saturday by Julie Daryal Anal, Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Machi at REACH-M's Jubilee Hall, Nungourok village in Chandel district.
The skill development training is being organized by Rural Education and Action for Change, Manipur (REACH-M) and All Tribal Women Organisation (ATWO) under the sponsorship of District Rural Development Agency Chandel's Border Area Development Program (BADP) .
Modhuchandra Singh, Research Assistant Planning Chandel and Rev MM Hormi Kountim, Chairman REACH-M also graced the inaugural function of the skill development training as the guest of honour and functional president respectively.
REACH-M Director M Tongpao Haokip, ATWO Secretary Moikham also attended the inaugural function of the training programme in which 55 unemployed youths from different villages under Machi and Tengnoupal Sub - Division are taking part.
Speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural function, Machi SDO Julie Daryal Anal said that development of human resource is a must in a resource deficit State like Manipur.
"We depend on others for our daily needs of essential commodities which we can produce ourselves and we spend huge amount of our earning in buying goods imported from outside our States due to lack of our skills", she said.
The SDO also appreciated the trainees for the right decision in participating the skill development training.
