Addressing the gathering the Commerce and Industries Minister said bandh culture which is so common in the State has a direct impact on the economy and development of the State.
"It is time for both the Government and the people to join together and root out the culture of bandh from the State", the Minister said.
Development will come with economic efficiency.
If labourers and workers are left out from the various issues of the State, development can be achieved in a short span, he opined.
"Till bandhs, general strikes and economic blockades continue to plague the State, development cannot be achieved", he said.
The Minister also spoke on the importance of supporting and encouraging the State weavers in order to promote the traditional attire and fabric of the State.
He also assured to provide all possible aid to weavers.
The expo is being held under the aegis of Lamjing Thawan Association, Maruploi Foundation and State Society for Male Weavers, Artisans and Entrepreneurs, Manipur (Male-WAEM) .
Twenty different stalls opened at the expo showcased the handloom products that are woven by male and transgender weavers.
