Imphal, August 31 2016:
Imphal Municipal Council Mayor Soram Sunil has alleged that the Keishamthong AC MLA submitted Utilisation Certificates (UC) for lifting two month's rice allocation for Keishamthong AC under Public Distribution System even though no rice was distributed to the people.
The IMC Mayor in a press meet held at Manipur Press Club today said he has the UC written in the MLA's (Keishamthong AC) letterhead that was submitted to the Imphal West DSO for lifting two months (February and March) rice allocation under PDS.
Beneficiaries, however, did not receive the allocated rice, the Mayor said.
Claiming that he has the list of all the individuals involved in the swindling of food grains meant for the people, the Mayor said it is embarrassing on the part of the MLA to have promised Rs 10 lakh to whomever that can produce proof of his involvement.
The share of food grains for the AC are 304.85 quintals of rice for AAY card holders, 578.58 quintals for BPL and 222 quintals of rice for APL.
"Where have all the rice gone? Why hasn't a legal suit been taken up against the MLA till date?", the Mayor questioned.
He has further alleged that distribution of NFSA food cards for the AC has not completed till date.
