Jiribam, June 28 2018:
Demanding required infrastructures of a revenue district, International Peace and Social Advancement (IPSA), Jiribam on Thursday condemned the State Government for its failure to install required Government offices and departments in the district.
It may be mentioned that on December 9, 2016, the previous Government had created seven new districts - Jiribam, Kangpokpi, Kakching, Tengnoupal, Kamjong, Pherzawl and Noney.
Speaking to media persons at the office of IPSA, its president K Ibomcha Meitei apprised that the people in the district are facing immense inconveniences.
The district does not have its own transport office.
People have to travel more than 220 km to Imphal to procure driver's license.
This is just one of many examples, he said.
Urging the Government to instal a DTO and other required offices in the district, IPSA cautioned that it will take up stringent agitation if the Government failed to establish the offices at earliest.
Vice president of IPSA, M Nungsithoiba Singh, general secretary Sagolsem Surchandra Singh, finance secretary G Ibohal Sharma and executive member M Jeni Singh were present at the press meet.
