Apart from touching cities like Dimapur, Guwahati, Lucknow, Jammu and Srinagar, the rally also passed through kargil, Leh, Siachen Glacier and high mountain passes like Jozila, Rohtang and Khardungla the highest motorable pass in the world at over 14,000 feet above MSL.
As the rally aimed at promoting harmony, peace and adventure, Hero Honda had happily joined in the event and provided the motor cycles while the IOC ensured that fuel and repair is taken care of throughout the route.
Two units of the JAK LI Regt are presently serving in Manipur and it was therefore felt that the rally be kicked off from Imphal.
A beaming Lt Col Hiren Ramesh Desai, the leader of the rally, expressed extreme satisfaction on reaching Delhi as per plan.
There were problems enroute but he shrugged them off by saying, "That's what the adventure is all about".
Young Lt Mojit considers it a godsend opportunity to be part of the team at the beginning of his career.
All the members of the team, including the officers and the 18 Jawans were unequivocal in their praise for the bike and would say so in unison, "We love Hero Honda".
