Found beheaded at Napat village

In yet another case of gruesome crime, a man was found beheaded at Napat village under Kumbi police station in Bishnupur district.
On learning about the discovery of a severed head, a team of Kumbi Police went to the paddy fields of Napat Mayai Lambi and confirmed the report this morning.
On searching the area, one headless body was found wrapped inside a bag about 500 metres away from the spot where the head was discovered.
It has been confirmed that the deceased was one Moirangthem Mohon Meitei (27) s/o Mangijao of Napat Mayai Leikai.
Police have deposited the corpse at RIMS mortuary.
Police have also picked up one suspect in the murder case.
He has been identified as K Ibomcha Meitei (49) of Napat Awang Leikai.
It is suspected that Ibomcha and Mohon had some grudges against each other.
It is also suspected that Ibomcha murdered Mohon last night with a sharp weapon.
Meanwhile, following registration of a case, Kumbi Police have launched an investigation into the murder case.
Talking with The Sangai Express, IMC Chairperson Raghumani said that belled trucks would go around MG avenue twice in a day between 7.30 am and 10 am in the morning and 5.30 pm and 7.30 pm in the evening to collect and pick up waste materials and garbage from shops and households.
He also appealed to all the shopkeepers and residents of MG Avenue to bring out and load waste materials into the belled trucks as and when they arrive.
With the objective of keeping Imphal city neat and clean, pick-up belled trucks were already introduced in Thangal Keithel and Paona Keithel from April 9 .
Under the new programme, pick-up belled trucks have been collecting waste materials and garbage twice in a day.
