Pradhan aspirant abducted

An individual who has been preparing to contest for the post of Pradhan in the next Gram Panchayat election was abducted by some unidentified persons from his residential gate.
Nungleppam Bobby (37) s/o late Budha of Kadangband Part I under Lamsang police station in Imphal West district was abducted by some unidentified persons from near his house at about 9 pm yesterday.
It is said that Bobby had retired from the SSB.
He was preparing to contest in the next Gram Panchayat elections in Lairenkabi-Kadangband GP for the post of Pradhan.
Speaking to media persons today, Bobby's wife Shanti said that Bobby and she came out Trom their house in a car to go to Kadangband Part ll through Kadangband Mayai Leikai at about 9 pm yesterday.
Just as they drove a few metres from their home, they were stopped by two men and they called out Bobby.
At this, I thought that the duo were some local youths", Shanti said.
"However, I felt something amiss and got down from the car.
But when 1 tried to switch on my torch light to see the youths, they shouted not to switch on the torch light", Shanti narrated.
After talking for a few moments with Bobby, the, unidentified persons told Shanti not to shout no/ in form police.
Then they led away Bobby.
Immediately, Shanti went home and informed her neighbours.
Soon a frantic search was launched at Phum lou, Koutruk, Kharam, Chirang and other places.
Saying that they have not received any demand notes nor were threatened by any UG group, Shanti asked why ner husband was abducted.
She also pleaded to release her husband safe and sound.
Meanwhile, womenfolk staged protest demonstrations at Kadangband Part I and Kadangband Part II today demanding immediate release of Bobby.
