Biswajit inaugurates Manipur Cherry Blossom festival

RD & PR, Minister Thongam Biswajit Singh inaugurated the Manipur Cherry Blossom cum Flower Festival, as part of the ongoing Sangai Festival today.
He conveyed that the Manipur Cherry Blossom Festival has become a part of the Sangai Festival, from this year, as assured by Chief Minister N Biren during the previous edition of the festival.
The three-day long Manipur Cherry Blossom cum Flower Festival is organised at Mao Gate under the theme 'Exploring Nature's Wonder' .
Speaking at the inaugural function, Biswajit said that building a good relationship requires a person to have faith and belief in one other.
He said that a lot of changes have come after the formation of the present Government led by Chief Minister N Biren adding that today, the people in the State have better understanding and cooperation among one another which is the joint effort of the Govt and its people.
The Minister conveyed that the present Government believes in negotiation without fighting, at times of misunderstanding.
He expressed happiness on seeing a group of renowned senior citizens from Imphal coming to attend the inaugural function and appealed the group to stay for the night and interact with the locals.
Biswajit also said that the festival will showcase the scenic cherry blossoms, landscapes of Manipur and its diverse culture and tradition.
He continued that it is the right time to explore, promote and exhibit the resources of the State at the international level.
He continued that the festival is not just a simple festival, but will bind the hearts of the people of Manipur apart from promoting and encouraging the idea of oneness.
Biswajit called upon the people for an active participation in the festival to show the unification of all living in the State to the world.
Meanwhile PHE Minister Losii Dikho lauded the Government for merging the Cherry Blossom Festival with the Manipur Sangai Festival.
Earlier, Biswajit opened the inaugural plaque of the festival at the beginning of the function.
The inaugural function was also attended by MLA K Leishiyo, MLA K Robindro, Senapati DC Somorjit Salam among others.
The three-day festival also include camping, local food stalls, flower and vegetable stalls, cherry tree lightings, competition & exhibition etc.
