Imphal, October 22 2016:
The comments made by MLA, Andro Assembly Constituency, Th Shyamkumar, regarding the battered road conditions of the constituency and his claim that he would repair the roads in Kangjabi area if locals permit, have invited criticism from Thangmeiband United Club (TUC), a conglomerate of all 27 working clubs of Thangmeiband AC.
Addressing media persons today at Rising Knowledge Club, Khoyathong, TUC secretary N Robert said such comments made by an MLA of another AC is not acceptable.
The current MLA of Thangmeiband AC has been working tirelessly to bring all round development in the constituency.
MLA Shyamkumar would not have passed such comments that tarnish the image of the present elected leader had he known the actual facts, Robert said.
The present MLA of Thangmeiband AC Kh Joykishan has started repairing the Kangjabi leirak road and other adjacent roads, but due to the Sewerage Project, the road repair works have been halted for some time.
The Kangjabi Leirak Youth Club and Thangmeiband United Club are witnesses of the arrangements made by the PHED and the locals of the area.
Joykishan has also given assurance that the road repair work will resume after the Sewerage Project is completed in the said area, he said.
When there has been such understanding and agreement between the concerned authorities and locals, making unwanted comments in another's turf is not acceptable, he stated.
If MLA Shyamkumar is very much interested in repairing the roads of Kangjabi area, TUC will extend fullest support.
"And if he fails to keep up his words, TUC along with locals of the Thangmeiband AC will boycott the entry of MLA Th Shyamkumar in the constituency", the TUC secretary said.
