CM and team all set to visit Ukhrul ; TNL announces public curfew to boycott visit

Ukhrul, October 22 2016:
With the Chief Minister and some members of the Council of Ministers all set to visit Ukhrul on October 24 to inaugurate a number of projects, the Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) has announced a 24 hour public curfew in all the five villages of Ukhrul from 4 pm of Sunday evening to Monday 4 .
The inauguration programme is scheduled to be held on October 24 .
Despite the stiff opposition from TNL, the Chief Minister and his Council of Ministers are set to inaugurate the different projects in five villages amid tight security.
In issuing the public curfew call, TNL asked all the people to stay indoors and decreed that no village should send any representative to the inauguration programmes.

According to official sources, the projects to be inaugurated include LM SDO/BDO office, bank, Chingai SDO/BDO office, 100 bedded district hospital, 132/33 KV sub-station and 33/11 KV sub-station.
Officials of the respective LM Block and Chingai will receive the visiting Ministers while in Ukhrul the reception programme will be held at the inauguration venue of the 100 bedded district hospital at around 10 am at Hungpung, Ukhrul.
The Chief Minister is scheduled to give a public address just after the inauguration of the hospital.
The CM's team will then fly to other two blocks (Chingai and LM Blocks) for inaugurating the offices and banks.
Issuing a stern warning against attending the inauguration programme, TNL said that if anyone violates the decree then he or she will be branded as anti-Naga.
