NEROCA FC, SSU register wins

NEROCA FC's Nigerian striker Ejiogu Chinedu Emmanuel converted a free kick and assisted another in the team's emphatic 2-0 win over another contenders NISA, Thangmeiband today in the ongoing 11th Manipur State League.
The result today put unbeaten NEROCA FC�with 22 points and just a point ahead of reigning champions AIM� on top of the league table.
NISA are still perched at the fifth of the table.
Both the teams were cagey at the start and took time to ascertain each other's strength and weakness.
Consequently, the first half ended in a scoreless draw.
After a barren first session, NEROCA FC held the upper hand and created better chances and Emmanuel struck a magical opener for his team in the 52nd minute.
NEROCA FC were awarded a free kick.
Ejiogu Chinedu Emmanuel stepped up to take the kick and he eventually broke the deadlock as he made no mistake in converting the free kick.
The Thangmeiband outfits tried to fight their way back.
However, they were denied any chances by the Sangakpham defenders.
In the 80th minute, Ejiogu Chinedu Emmanuel teed up Ch Sushilkumar, who came off the bench, to complete NEROCA's rout.
In another encounter of the day, SSU, Singjamei edged past NACO, Nambul Mapan 1-0 .
Both sides got off impressively.
Although NACO dominated possession, SSU created better chances.
However, none could make any breakthrough in the first half.
The winner for SSU was banged in by Md Riyas Khan through a pass from L Gogocha in the 73rd minute.
The win had distanced SSU a bit farther from the relegation zone.
