Imphal, August 12 2021:
Issues regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, unavailability of fertilizers and incessant price rise of essential commodities will be raised and discussed at the Monsoon Session of Manipur Legislative Assembly slated to start from August 20 .
MPCC vice president, MLA K Meghachandra said this while welcoming new members to the Congress party and added that it is really unfortunate that the number of days for the Assembly session has been kept at just 5 days with just 3 sittings as this will provide very limited time to raise questions and issues of the public.
He added one of the sittings will be used up in paying tributes and condolence to members of the House who had recently passed away and in the remaining two, only 7-8 questions can be raised in each sitting.
K Meghachandra appealed to the Government to give more time to raise and discuss public issues.
He also told the media that the Congress party is fully prepared to raise the issues regarding financial spendings during the pandemic, unavailability of fertilizers and the steep rise in price of essential commodities.
Speaking on the programme, interim president of MPCC, MLA N Loken said lines of programmes are being prepared to welcome new members to the Congress party after completion of Monsoon Session on August 24 .
