KSO CCpur greets newly promoted Addl Controller General of Defence Account

The Kuki Students' Organization Churachandpur district congratulated Jamkhongam alias J Lhungdim, IDAS and Chief of M Songgel village, Churachandpur on his promotion as Additional Controller General of Defence Account (GAH+) from the post of Principal Controller of Defence Account, Ministry of Defence, Government of India.
Born in 1956 at Molnom village, Churachandpur, Jamkhongam @ J Lhungdim is the only son of (L) Zilkhothang Lhungdim.
He graduated from the prestigious St Anthony's College, Shillong in 1980 and completed his Master's from NEHU in 1982 .
He started his career as Bank PO in 1984 for few months before he got selected for the prestigious All India Services in December, 1984 into Indian Defence Account Service (IDAS) as Assistant Controller of Defence Account (Shillong/Guwahati) .
He held various posts as Deputy Controller in 1988 (Shillong); Joint Controller of Defence Account in 1993 (Shillong/Guwahati); Director, Ministry of Defence in 1998(Delhi); Finance Officer, NEHU (Shillong) from 2001 to 2006; Controller of Defence Account from 2006-2009 (Guwahati); Planning Adviser, NEC (Shillong) from 2009-2014 ; Principal Integrated Financial Adviser (Army) in Ministry of Defence, Delhi, from Oct 2014-April 2018 ; Senior Jt CGDA May-July 2018; PCDA(BR) from August 2018- 7 July 2019, said KSO.
The Indian Defence Account Service (IDAS) provides Financial advice, accounts and audit services to the defence services and allied organisations viz Ordnance Factories, Indian Coast Guards, Border Roads Organisation, Defence Research and Development Organisation etc.
The department was established to look after the Pay Accounts of Military Services of India.
With this new promotion, he is the senior most officer and one holding highest position among the serving Kuki officers in Central Service in New Delhi at present.
His contribution to the Church and Kuki Society at large is admirable and praiseworthy, said KSO extending its warmest congratulations to J Lhungdim.
