The Secretary said that teachers should put themselves in students' shoes at the time of setting questions for examinations and added that teachers should also do examination evaluation from their hearts.
Saying that teaching is the most noble profession, she went on to state that the purpose of education should not only be limited to imparting knowledge from textbooks but should also focus on building students' character and preparation of students' life.
"One should keep on learning in his/her life and it is important to take how people finished in his/her life into account when it comes to the wholesome purpose of education", she said while pointing out that the integrity of Intellectual Quotient (IQ) and Emotional Quotient (EQ) are vital in the process of character building for students.
Mary then exuded confidence that the workshop will provide adequate knowledge and needful methodologies of setting and evaluating questions to the teachers.
The function was also attended by AMRPSWA vice president L Joy Singh and former advisor Dr S Manaoton Singh among others as the president and guests of honour.
Many experts and resource persons will delivered lectures and give presentations during the four day workshop which will be concluded on July 12 .
