State Subroto Mukerjee Football tourney : Bishnupur sink Kamjong 8-0 in U-14 boys competition

Imphal, July 09 2019: TG English School which are representing Bishnupur district extended their winning run as they romped past Kamjong High School, Kamjong 8-0 to keep their semi-final hope intact from Group C in the U-14 boys competition of the State Subroto Mukerjee Football Tournament at Practice Field, Khuman Lampak today.

Bishnupur district got off to a flying start today with Abash netting the first goal in the 14th minute before Th Naresh doubled the lead two minutes latter.

Th Rabatson then took the onslaught forward and hit a brace (18', 27') to make it 4-0 past the poor Kamjong side.

Despite the huge lead, the Bishnupur side were relentless in their efforts and successfully managed to add up 4 four goals through Amujao (45'), Sanathoi (48', 50+) and Abungton (50') and completed the 8-0 decimation.

Meanwhile, Parbung Govt Higher Secondary School, Pherzawl district which went down 1-3 to Ukhrul side earlier in their Group B league match made a good comeback as they trounced Christian Grammar School, Tamenglong which got a walk-over in their previous outing by 5-0 goals.

Patrick (1', 32') and Hosia (11', 19') and Jeremiah (17') did the scoring for the Pherzawl outfit.

Earlier at the same venue, Unique Model English Academy, Imphal East rode on goals by Nelson Sapam (18') and Y Mahesh (32') to thump CT Higher Secondary School, Imphal West and successfully extended their winning streak and stay atop Group D table.

In another Group D league match staged in the evening, Educational Training School, Kangpokpi edged past Mt Zion Sr Secondary School, Senapati by 4-2 goals.

Thangougun netted twice (10', 44') including the opener while Lenboilun (35') and Paogouthang (42') added a goal each for the victorious team and Maningdou Rangnamei (7', 25') scored for the Senapati side.

In the Group A league match staged in the morning, Ahmadabad High School, Jiribam district sealed a slender 1-0 win against Heinoukhong Residential School, Tengnoupal thanks to 49th minute goal by Md Anwar.

U-17 Boys Competition
Imphal West, Jiribam, Imphal East, Churachandpur, Tengnoupal and Kangpokpi emerged victorious in today's U-17 matches staged at Main Stadium.

Imphal West team represented by Little Master English Higher Secondary School opened their Group D winning account with a 2-0 win against Taithu Govt High School, Pherzawl.

Kishan Naorem (4') and T Nungonba (60+2') scored for the Imphal West team which shared spoils with Bishnupur team in their earlier fixture at the same tourney.

In the Group A league match, Jiribam Hr Secondary School, Jiribam eased past Eclavia English School, Noney by 5-2 goals.

John David (10'), Md Rohit (14', 49'), Johnson Chero (33') and Johnson (46') found the net for the Jiribam side while both the goals for the Noney district was added by Kagunga (15', 17').Meanwhile in the Group B league match, Reliance Academy, Imphal East which suffered a 1-0 loss to the Ukhrul team made their way back into the tournament with a 18-1 demolition of Pretty Lamb Institute, Tamenglong.

Malemnganba shone in the match as he scored four goals alone (25', 26', 29', 59') while Somokanta (8', 39', 56') and Bablu (22', 46', 52') followed suit to added three goals each.

Samson (2', 60'), Bidyachandra (33', 50) also added two goals each for the team and Kapil (10'), Dravid (15'), Paskel (44') and Prabitra (47') contributed a goal each.

The lone goal of the Tamenglong side was scored by Kaphulung in the 35th minute of the match.

HM English School, Churachandpur also extend their lead at Group C table as they registered a huge 7-2 win against Emanuel School, Chandel.

Johnson made the most of the scoring with five goals in his name (4', 7', 31', 35', 60') while Letminlian (5') and Nehmenlal (59') scored a goal apiece to make it 7-2 at the end.

Thumson (32') and Bungring (42') scored for the Chandel side in this one side match.

Elsewhere in a Group D fixture, Lunminlen Haokip's brace (9', 29') and a single by TS Lunkhosei (50') helped VM High School, Tengnoupal edge past Thinungei Phubala High School, Bishnupur by 3-2 goals.

The goals for the Bishnupur side were scored by Y Santosh (30') and Michael (48') .

In another Group C league match of the competition, Kangpokpi secured their second win by thrashing Kamjong H School 10-1 in a relatively one side match.

The huge win was powered by four goals each from Reuben (27', 28', 45', 56') and Haogou Thang (29', 52', 53', 60') and singles from Ginkhomang (26') and Gouhai (37').The solitary goal for Kamjong side was scored by Honthipam Molong (23') .
