Imphal, July 09 2013:
Although the 36 hours general strike called by the Kuki State Demand Committee has been followed by a 48 hour economic blockade, people need not fear about possible fuel oil scarcity.
According to information received from IOC's Chingmeirong depot, four trips of shipping fuel to the depot may be cancelled because of the ongoing general strike and the ensuing economic blockade.
Even if four trips are cancelled, there would not be any fuel shortage.
Fuel are being supplied to retail outlets from the depot uninterrupted in the normal pace.
Till this morning, there are 143 standing TTs including 56 petrol tankers, 37 SK Oil tankers and 50 diesel tankers.
After the ensuing economic blockade is over, oil tankers would go for shipping fuel oils with CRPF escort on July 11, informed the source.
