IED found

Imphal, July 09 2013:
An IED was found at the residential gate of Imphal Urban Cooperative Bank Limited Chairman (Loan) RK Mombisana (70) at Uripok Laikhurembi Leirak at about 11 am today.
According to information culled from the spot, an unidentified person was seen dropping a plastic packet (used for packaging potato chips) at the residential gate of Mombisana by his daughter-in-law.
As the whole scene looked suspicious, the daughter-in-law went out and checked the packet and found a bomb-like material.
Then the family informed police.
The bomb-alike was confirmed to be an IED after a bomb disposal squad of Manipur Police opened it.
Explosives, detonator and battery were found fitted inside a steel can.
The IED was set off safely at Lamphel in the afternoon.
Unidentified persons triggered a similar bomb at the residential gate of IUCB Board of Directors' Chairman Thokchom Dillipkumar at Koirou Mamang Leikai on July 1 .
Armed outfit Maoist Communist Party Manipur claimed responsibility for the bomb attack.
