BJP Tamei Mandal refutes NPF's claims, to contest in the upcoming by-election

The Bharatiya Janata Party Tamei Mandal, Tamenglong district has refuted the claims of NPF as illogical and unethical for a democratic set up and that the supporters of BJP Tamenglong have never exerted any pressure on the Government.
A statement of BJP Tamei Mandal said, a press release issued by NPF president, Manipur unit has said that the BJP should not contest against the NPF candidate in the upcoming by-election of Chaton Segment, Autonomous District Council, Tamenglong district (to be held on January 14) in view of the party ethics as NPF party is a coalition partner of the present Government.
BJP Tamei Mandal narrated that Tamenglong district is one of the strongholds of BJP and as a result it elected BJP MLA under 53 Tamenglong AC which was not possible in other hill districts.
It said Tamenglong district has produced successive loyal BJP leadership and this time, Chaton segment comes under the home constituency of the current vice president of BJP Manipur Pradesh Z Kikhonbou Newmai adding that if the performance of BJP is disappointing even on the general election, the rest of the district may lose trust and subsequently lead to serious impact on the forthcoming Lok Sabha election.
The press statement alleged that NPF is known for its shrewdness, corruption, insincerity, use of coercion and betrayal and that the people at the grassroots level have lost trust of the party.
They prefer development and positive changes under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi instead of hollow promises, it asserted.
Alleging that BJP supporters were never given any beneficial schemes either by the district administration or block administration, it claimed that the entire Government Departments in the district are being manipulated allegedly by the NPF MLA.
It said, although BJP is majority in Tamenglong ADC, there was a prolonged tussle over a motion of no confidence for more than a year adding that its chairmanship and executive memberships were finally awarded to the NPF under the advice of the Govt.There is no equal distribution be it power or fund, however, the BJP have never made any bargaining claim so far, it claimed.
NPF and BJP have no pre-alliance so far and it is illogical to leave NPF uncontested, BJP Tamei Mandal said adding that it has every right to have a friendly contest in the local self Government.
It further stated that Chaton ADC segment has been practising democratic norms and ethics, whenever elections are conducted as per the law of (Hill Areas) ADC, Manipur.
BJP Tamei Mandal pointed out that in case of demise of an elected member, the respective post has to be filled through by-election and exercising the Universal Adult Franchise.
It said that when the district councils at the grassroots level play an important role in paving ways in both the Assembly election and Lok Sabha election.
It further pointed out that if the BJP will have enough majority to form Government in the district which denotes that the party will win three MLA's seat in the next Assembly election if BJP wins in the upcoming by-election.
