Salai Holdings Pvt Ltd to construct school at Nongkham Satang village in Tengnoupal

Salai Holdings Private Limited is initiating several goodwill works in Nongkham Satang village, Tengnoupal district including establishment of one school, construction of houses and initiating several agricultural related activities for the welfare of the villagers at the earliest, said its chairman and director Narengbam Samarjit during an inspection at the said village yesterday.
Salai will also be providing solar lights for the village.
Addressing media persons during the tour, Samarjit said that inspection was organised following a request of the Satang villagers.
He maintained that Nongkham Satang village which is located near India-Myanmar border is a strategic place and that the people will play crucial roles when international businesses transactions are developed in the border region.
The village however has its number of household decreased from 150 to just 80 in the last some years.
Salai is planning to construct a colony with planned construction of houses for the villagers in a suitable area and the vacant spaces will be used to plant seasonal vegetables for income generation, Samarjit said.
He also said that the road leading to Nongkham Satang village is deteriorated and Salai is considering all options to repair the road at the earliest.
Saying that many people from Imphal are willing to donate books, he said that Salai Holdings Private Limited will survey the number of children and establish one school and start conducting classes in the village by sending two teachers at the earliest.
More emphasis will be given in teaching English, Manipuri subjects and culture and history of the State.
Students from Myanmar are also welcome to attend the school, he said.
Mentioning that Board of Director and advisor of Salai will discuss the possibility of developing Nongkham Satang village as a tourist destination and business hub for the State, he added that Salai is participating a trade exchange event in Myanmar on January 11 and 12.A memorandum will be submitted to the Myanmar Government to facilitate entry of heavy vehicles from Manipur, he added.
