Karam Shyam rejects O Joy's claim

AC MLA Karam Shyam has
said that he had revamped 30
different roads including 11
roads which were neglected for
long 37 years.
Speaking to reporters at
Lilong Mairenkhong, Karam
Shyam said that former MLA
O Joy had propagated that he
would revamp roads of the
AC.
Khumbong Selunba road
had already been included in
the work programme by him,
Shyam said and added that O
Joy has been however propa-
gating that he would revamp
this road.
In this regard,
Shyam questioned how Joy
could repair the road if he did
not able to do it during his
long tenure of 37 years.
Shyam said that Karam-
Haoreibi, Haoreibi-Sambou,
Seram Leirak, Moirang
Subedar Leirak and
Chingkhong never saw black
topped roads for 37 years.
However, he had black
topped the said roads in a
short span of four years,
Shyam said.
Saying that local
area development fund is
properly utilised in his AC,
Shyam said that he had con-
structed 19 sheds, 11
extension buildings, 53
drains, three new club build-
ings, eight new crematoriums,
six retaining walls and seven
waiting sheds so far.
He fur-
ther said that he had laid
shingling on 113 roads, laid
water supply pipes at 7/8
places, developed an eco-
park, 11 class rooms, 24
urinals/bathrooms and devel-
oped Dr Kamal complex.
Saying that he has been
providing PDS items regu-
larly to the people, the MLA
said that half of his salary has
been used in providing aid to
around 475 needy people so
far.
57 people have been
given help in repairing houses
and 887 children have been
provided assistance in their
education, Shyam said.
He said that he had met the
Chief Minister and Minister
concerned for the construc-
tion of Hiyangthang-Meitei
Lamkhai and Heirangthong-
MU roads as well.
