Tree plantation drives held

Imphal, July 24 2016:
With the
ever increasing need to plant
more trees and save nature,
Rotary Club of Imphal (Rotary
International District-3240)
helped by the staff of Liberal
College, Luwangsangbam,
Imphal planted over 250
saplings inside the college
premises today.
The tree plantation drive
was conducted as part of their
annual tree plantation pro-
gramme on the theme "Save
mother earth".
Members of the Rotary
Club of Imphal including its
president N Manoranjan and
other prominent Rotarians in-
cluding Dr Dhabali took part
in the plantation programme.
A similar plantation drive
was held at St Anthony's
Parish, Muirei, Ukhrul yes-
terday organised by The
Good Samaritan Initiative,
Manipur (TGSIM), reports
our correspondent.
About 230 saplings were
planted under the leadership
of TGSIM members, Rev Fr
KD Joy, Parish Priest at the
drive.
It may be worth mention-
ing that, TGSIM is a
voluntary based organization
formed in 2013 focusing on
health care, relief and educa-
tion.
Since its formation, it
has conducted numerous
health camps in the far flung
villages across the State.
