Boxing queen MC Mary Kom who have won World Boxing Championship titles three times and has been adorned with the prestigious Arjuna Award prefers her new born children to be social workers rather than taking up her profession of boxing.
Speaking to reporters on the occasion of a blessing ceremony of her twin sons��K Rechungvar Kom and K Khunneivar Kom today, Mary Kom lamented that even as she has been able to bring laurels for the State and the country as a boxer, she is unable to serve the people satisfactorily.
Sharing her thoughts on the responsibility of members of a society, Mary Kom observed that one can never be called a responsible citizen if he/she fails to serve society in one way or another.
Saying that she wishes her sons to be competent persons, she expressed her desire that her sons become social workers.
During the celebration held at Shamulamlan Baptist Church, many well wishers prayed for the new born twins.
