The 9th foundation day of the Manipuri Students' Federation (MSF) was celebrated yesterday at Hotel Mass, Imphal.
Ex-presidents Th Udoi Luwang, Ph Nando Luwang, Y Dhakeswar, Kh Gourachandra, S Sanjoy and incumbent president Ch Rupachandra graced the celebration as presidium members.
After opening the celebration with hoisting of MSF flag by the presidium members, invitees of the occasion, MSF founder member Laishram Lukhoi, MU guest lecturer Dr Dhanabir Laishram and Associate Professor of the Department of Economics, MU Chinglen Maisnam emphasised on the responsibility of students towards development of a society.
As such, it is essential to strengthen the student bodies who would lead the students in the right path.
It also calls for sincerity on the part of student leaders, they asserted.
Under its Eikhoi Lairik Ningthina Tamshi, MSF has distributed text books to poor students and has helped many of them admit in schools financially, said MSF president Ch Rupachandra while declaring that the campaign will continue.
Moreover, the MSF will be launching a new campaign to make education a free zone, he said while seeking cooperation from the people and the school authorities towards its proposed campaign.
