The festival of Id-ul-Fitter was jointly celebrated today by the United Committee Manipur (UCM) and Tarahei Youth Development Organisation, Hiyangthang.
The Id celebration held at the Tarahei residence of UCM's IPR secretary BM Yaima Shah was graced by UCM president Konsam Langamba and TYDO advisor Md Abaz Ali as chief guest and president respectively.
The main features of the celebration were a joint meeting and a feast.
Speaking on the occasion, Langamba observed that joint celebration of Id, Christmas and Ningol Chakouba irrespective community or religion is the foundation stone towards bringing integrity in the State.
Saying that the UCM will urge upon the Government to construct a bridge over Nambul river near Langthabal Phura Makhong, Langamba said that the bridge will be built by the UCM and TYDO in case the Government remains indifferent to the appeal.

On the occasion of the holy festival, greetings were also exchanged.
