Lamka, March 14 2013: Hundreds of fans turned up last night at Kholmun playground when Ncy Doungel's 500 plus lyrics were officially celebrated in a grand ceremony wherein the ace lyricist and composer was showered with extensive gifts.

A towering Thadou-Kuki lyricist and wordsmith, Ncy Doungel was presented an Alto Car by the ADC members while the organisers handed over to her a housing plot they have acquired earlier.

They have also presented her a cash reward of Rs 3.5 lakhs.

Walking into a specially set-up dais and receiving a thumping traditional reception, Ncy Doungel, still a spinster, received heap of praises as was deliberately planned and executed by the organisers throughout the ceremony that run late into the night.

'Ai' is a Kuki traditional festive rite performed to honour individual's extraordinary achievement while 'Jaila' signifies song.

The deputy commissioner Jacintha Lazarus inaugurated the Zaila-Ai's souvenir while executive member of the District Council, M Gouzamang Guite launched a special album recorded to mark the day.
