Sobhakiran elected new MPP Chief

Nongmeikapam Sobhakiran has been unanimously elected as the new President of Manipur People's Party (MPP) for a term for three years during a conference of the party here today.
The election of Sobhakiran as the new chief of MPP was announced officially by Returning Officer H Nabakishore at a press conference in the party office located behind the historic Mapal Kangjeibung.
After announcement of electing Sobhakiran as the new President of the party, Advisor of MPP Dr L Chandramani garlanded him and accorded warm welcome.
Speaking on the occasion, Sobhakiran reiterated MPP's commitment to work for the welfare of the indigenous people and assured to make continue effort for reintroduction of Inner Line Permit System in Manipur to stop influx of outsiders.
He said that the motive of the Congress party both at the Centre and the State to intermingle the indigenous population of the State with the illegal migrants can only be countered by MPP.
So, MPP needs to be strengthened and if Manipur is to be saved from the disaster of uninterrupted flow of outsiders, then power should be given to MPP and that depends on the will of the people.
It is said that in today's party conference, an account statement for the year 2011, 2012 and 2013 amounting to over Rs 1.5 crore had been passed.
While passing the Statement of Account for 2011 and 2012, the names of the party leaders who had misused party funds were revealed and ways and means to recoup the said amount from them were also discussed.
