Imphal, December 03 2016:
Stating that some volunteers of MSF have been brutally attacked by some students of Government Polytechnic, Takyel yesterday at around 9.30 pm when they went to the institute's boys hostel to address/intervene an altercation inside the hostel, the Manipur Students' Federation (MSF) has today strongly condemned the attack.
In a statement, MSF explained that some of its volunteers tried to intervene after taking due permission from the warden following a call of an altercation at the hostel.
Later, they held a meeting with the students and monitors of the hostel wherein they unanimously decided to hold a collective meeting with the Principal of the institute the next day.
However, the MSF volunteers were attacked by a group of students who seemed to be intoxicated as they came out of the hostel.
The students also stopped the volunteers from taking some of the injured colleagues/volunteers to the hospital and continued vandalising the vehicles of the volunteers.
Asking all the students who carried out the attack to come to its head office along with their parents and institution's authorities within December 5 for reconciliation, MSF further said that the institution has been permanently banned/boycotted.
