UADC chairman urges youth to know their fundamental duties

Ukhrul, September 26 2017:
The Ukhrul Autonomous District Council (UADC) Chairman Dickson Kumrah urged the youth of the Talui village to know their fundamental duties and become responsible individuals .
He stated this during an inaugural function of the 61st Talui Reisang Youth Club (TRYC) Long Kazip cum cultural festival and sport meet held today at Talui village ground under Lungchong Maiphai (LM) block, Ukhrul .
Dickson said that the three days block level competition events would witness myriad exposure of cultural and musical items including Raivak Pheichak, Double quartet, Tan-Tanlo and folk song (Hao Laa) while in the sports section, football and volleyball competitions will also be conducted .
UADC Chairman in his speech lauded the Talui Reisang Youth Club for preserving the dying Tangkhul culture by organizing such cultural events annually and stressed on the collective responsibility of the youths to preserve the culture and identity.
Sport is an another way of approach to discipline the youths and prevent them from indulging into substance abuse, he added .
UADC chairman Dickson declared the block level sport meet open in the presence of Executive members HAS.
Ngamsung, Khayinghor and Mashungnam .
Six village youth clubs from Ruireitang, Masorin, Vashimtang, Keinungtang, Talui Reisang Youth and Awontang participated in the competition .
Executive members of ADC, Ukhrul Kapangpam Zimik attended the event as guest of honour.
