Part-Time Lecturers' Stir Bodies urge Government for early solution

Expressing concern over the inconvenience being faced by different schools in the functioning of normal classes due to the ongoing ceasework strike of All Manipur Government Higher Secondary School Part Time Lecturer's Association, several bodies have urged the Government to bring a solution with the agitating teachers at the earliest.
In a press release, Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (TKS) said that the stir has almost paralysed the functioning of Ukhrul Higher Secondary School and Tolloi Higher Secondary School.
Maintaining that the demands of part time lecturers are genuine, TKS urged the Government to do the needful regarding the demands of the teachers before
November 20 .
The students' body also warned that the Government must held responsible for any eventuality if the matter is not resolved within the said deadline.
In separate press releases, Zeliangrong Students' Union, Longmai Area and Tengkonjang Higher Secondary School have also informed that normal classes are totally paralysed due to the stir as the school has been being solely run by part time lecturers since past 15 years.
The two bodies also warned with intense agitations including indefinite bandh along NH-53 if the matter of part time lecturers is not resolved at the earliest.
Students' Union of Tolloi Higher Secondary Academy, Talui Katamnao Long and Talui Village Authority have also demanded the Government to bring an early end to the ongoing ceasework stir of part time lecturers.
Expressing apprehension that syllabus of most of the subjects may not be covered, Students' Union of Tolloi Higher Secondary School cautioned the Government that it would launch violent agitations if the matter is not resolved by November 18 .
Talui Village Authority, in a press release, said that depriving students from right to education for long would only instigate them to go for agitation.
Talui Katamnao Long has also warned the Government with violent agitations if normal classes are not resumed at Tolloi Higher Secondary Academy by November 18 .
Meanwhile, the Principal of Tolloi Higher Secondary Academy has written a letter to Chief Minister O Ibobi urging him to bring an immediate solution regarding the matter.
The Principal said, with the launch of ceasework stir by part time lecturers from November 3, the normal functioning of the school has been completely disturbed and paralysed as the school is being solely run with these teachers.
He informed the Chief Minister that resumption of regular classes is badly needed as half of the syllabus of most of the subjects is yet to be covered whereas the examination is knocking at the door.
