Imphal, June 11 2019:
A team of Shiv Sena Manipur State unit, led by its president M Tombi, left for Mumbai and Delhi today, to urge the Central BJP and Shiv Sena leaders to clear out the confusion and tension which is presently occurring within the BJP led State Government in Manipur.
Speaking to media persons at Babupara before leaving Imphal, M Tombi explained that the move has been planned so as to bring proper administration and tranquillity in the State as the present political tension within the Government has created many hurdles when it comes to administration of the State and taking up development works.
He continued that a meeting of the political parties constituting the Manipur Democratic Alliance, was held yesterday and during the meeting the assurance to produce the CAB in the Parliament was discussed at length.
The stand taken by the alliance against CAB is still the same, he added.
Stating that the assurance given by then Home Minister Rajnath Singh to insert a clause for the protection of the indigenous people in the CAB still remains, Tombi said that Shiv Sena and the Alliance is ready to pressure the Central leaders to insert such a clause for the protection of the indigenous people if the need be.
However, all possible attempts will be made to ensure that CAB is not passed in Manipur, he said adding that the party is also prepared to pressure the President of the country to give assent to the Manipur People Bill.
Tombi explained that the team will also urged the Shiv Sena Central leaders to take up possible steps to increase the amount of Local Area Development Funds supplied to the hills when compared to the valley MLAs.
Expressing disappointment at some tribal Ministers failing to turn up for Cabinet meeting which was held at the hill districts, he urged those Ministers to appear for such meetings in the future.
