President, Guv lead in extending Cheiraoba wishes

President Ram Nath Kovind has extended his good wishes and greetings to all the people of Manipur on the occasion of Sajibu Cheiraoba.
Maintaining that the festival marks the onset of New Year and reflect values of prosperity and well being, the President prayed for the festival to strengthen the bonds of love and affection as well as the spirit of fraternity among people across the Nation.
Governor Dr Najma Heptulla has also extended her heartiest greetings to the people of Manipur on the occasion of "Sajibu Nongma Panba Cheiraoba".
"On this occasion, let us all resolve to make Cheiraoba, a harbinger of peace and harmony in the State and work together for a common goal," said Dr Najma.
The Governor then urged all to observe the day in its true spirit to strengthen the bond of friendship among several communities residing in the State.
Chief Minister N Biren Singh also wished the people of Manipur on the occasion of "Sajibu Nongma Panba Cheiraoba", the first day of Sajibu, the first month of the traditional Meiteis/Meeteis calendar.
N Biren Singh conveyed that the day is observed as a festival with family reunion, exchange of greetings, annual house cleaning, temple visits and a family meal by Meiteis/Meeteis.
"As we celebrate this festival with fervour and gaiety, let us not forget to take care of our aged grandparents, parents and other aged relatives," said the CM and prayed for the festival to bring peace, prosperity, good health and happiness to all.
Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker, Yumnam Khemchand Singh also wished peace, harmony and prosperity for all the people on the occasion of Cheiraoba.
Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Gaikhangam also extended his warm greetings to the people of Manipur on the occasion of Sajibu Cheiraoba.
Major General KP Singh, IGAR (S) and all ranks of Assam Rifles also greeted the people of Manipur on the occasion of Cheiraoba.
May the festival bring us together, irrespective of caste, creed and faith, read a message of IGAR (S) .
North East Development Party (NEIDP), Lok Janshakti Party (LJP), Manipur State Unit, Coalition Against Drugs and Alcohol (CADA), Manipuri Students' Federation (MSF), Manipuri Chanura Leishem Marup, Universal Family Organisation, South East Asia Cultural Organisation (SEACO), Laimanai Lainingthou Sanamahi Thougal Lup (LLSTL) and Phuruplakki Sanamahi Laining Amasung Punsiron Khupham Thousikon (Phuruplakki Salai Punsikon) too conveyed their heartiest greetings to the people of Manipur on the occasion of Cheiraoba.
