Imphal, June 20:
The 8th foundation anniversary of the RIMS Voluntary Help-line Unit was celebrated today.
The RIMS Helpline Unit was set up in the aftermath of the people's movement of June 18, 2001 .
The anniversary celebration was marked by distribution of sweets and snacks to the in-patients of RIMS.
Since its establishment, the Voluntary Helpline Unit has been rendering services to those who suffered casualties in such incidents as the ISKCON bomb blast, Pourabi blast, the sustained agitation in the Manorama murder case etc, said its president M Subhaschandra.
He further pledged that the unit will continue with its service by offering help in the form of cash and medicines to helpless and impoverished patients.
