MLSA, Mayang Imphal judokas grabbed three gold medals, same number of silver and a bronze on the opening day of the Fourth State Level Angom Nandalal Memorial Judo Championship which commenced at the Dr Kamal Indoor Stadium Canchipur today.
MLSA opened the medal account when Ch Rabi bagged the sub-junior boys' below 25 kg title defeating MK Somorjit also of MLSA.
AMKA's Kh Nelson secured the third position.
In the sub-junior girls' below 25 kg competition, Kh Sarjubala of Canchipur's AMKA defeated her MLSA rival Ch Sonali in the final as H Purnima of MLSA claimed the third spot.
MLSA's second gold medal was bagged by A Malemnganbi defeating her club-mate Th Naobicha in the sub-junior below 30 kg final as L Anand fetched the third yellow metal for the Mayang Imphal side winning the sub-junior boys' below 50 kg final over M Inaoton of SAG.
K Kirankumar finished third in the group.
In all 200 judokas from eight units, including 80 girls are taking part in the three-day competition being organised under the aegis of All Manipur Karate Association.
Judokas of UDA (Khangabok), IKJC (Khagempalli), LLYC (Lukram Leirak), Senapati district and Assam Rifles (Dimapur) are also taking part in the championship.
