Around 200 candidates who appeared in the Air force Recruitment rally held at Aizawl from August 5 till 7 have been stranded at Jiribam on their way back to Imphal due to the transporters' 'chakka bandh' call, reports our Jiribam corresondent.
Talking to newspersons at Jiribam sub-division headquarters, many of the candidates expressed fear that their career would be jeopardised if they do not report to the Air Force recruiting authority on August 14 .
The Jiribam ADC did not extend any help when approached for assistance, they alleged while highlighting severe hardships they had been facing as their financial resources have been completely exhausted.
Moreover, illnesses among some of the candidates have aggravated the situation and called upon the Government as well as every section of the society to provide all possible assistance to ameliorate their woes.
