Sensitization programme on PMNDP conducted

A sensitization programme on the Pradhan Mantri National Dialysis Programme (PMNDP) and dialysis facilities in Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) Imphal was held today at mini auditorium hall of RIMS.
The programme was organised by the Department of Nephrology RIMS in association with National Health Mission.
Professor H Priyosakhi Devi, medical superintendent of RIMS, Professor N Saratkumar Singh and Dr T Brojen Singh of Nephrology Department attended the programme as the presidium members.
Dr T Brojen Singh said that the programme is organised to sensitize the primary physicians at district level hospitals of the State regarding the PMNDP and to give awareness to the medical staff engaged in conducting dialysis on how to advise the patients and how to manage any complications that occur during the process.
Under PMNDP, dialysis machines have been installed in the district hospitals and have started treating the patients accordingly, he added.
He further stated that for Below Poverty Line (BPL) families, dialysis is done for free in any of the district hospitals.
SNO, PMNDP Manipur, Dr Y Premchandra Singh said that under this programme, free dialysis processes have already been started in 5 district hospitals of Churachandpur, Bishnupur, Senapati, Chandel and Thoubal.
He appealed to all to take benefits of the dialysis facilities in the nearby district hospitals.
