RSS Manipur Prant pays homage to Gourida

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Manipur Prant organised a 'Shraddhanjali' in the name of Gourishankar Chakraborty, former Assam Kshetra Sah Pracharak on April 6 at Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy.
The event was attended by Chief Minister N Biren Singh, Works Minister Th Biswajit Singh, Education Minister S Rajen Singh, Labour and Employment Minister Th Satyabrata, Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly Yumnam Khemchand, president of BJP Manipur State Unit Professor S Tiken and several swayamsevaks of RSS paid floral tributes to the departed soul and offered prayers, said a statement of RSS Manipur Prant.
Gourishankar Chakraborty, lovingly known as 'Gourida' was a RSS pracharak (full time worker) who dedicated his life for social work.
Born at Jalalpur Village in Cachar district of Assam in 1950, he passed away on March 24, 2021 after battling with cancer since 2013 .
He was widely regarded as an expert in every subject of Sangh and he was a frequent visitor to Manipur and encouraged Swayamsevaks in Manipur to translate English and Hindi books to Manipuri language.
