Imphal, May 29 2011:
The Maring Lane Women Society has condemned the alleged act of opening fire by Commerce and Industries Minister Y Erabot and assault on three women.
Maring Lane Women Society chairperson Sangnu accused Y Erabot of physically assaulting three women.
One Asem of Phunal village said that one Lucy Keishing thrashed one Khambi (15) of Phunal village, staying at the former's rented room.
Khambi ran out from the house and took shelter in the house of one of her friends.
Later, family elders of Khambi's friend took her to JNIMS.
On hearing the news, some family members of Khambi came to Maring Lane from Phunal village.
The family members went to Lucy Keishing's house to talk about the matter with Khambi's elder brother Samuel and sister-in-law Grace who too stayed in Lucy's house as tenants.
But they found a group of Minister Erabot's men there in Lucy's house.
The henchmen of Erabot opened fire and kicked out the family members of Khambi coming from Phunal village, Asem said.
As Samuel and Grace were brought out to be taken to Phunal village, Erabot's team blocked the way and took away the couple.
