AR dedicates Library Hall

30 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) constructed a Library Hall with Retaining Wall at Thangapat Mapal Village (Imphal East District) under Op Samaritan Project.
The Library Hall and Retaining Wall were constructed to provide the villagers with the noble facility of reading and enhancing their knowledge.
According to a statement issued by PRO of IGAR (S), Maj Gen UK Gurung, AVSM, YSM, IG AR(S) inaugurated the Library and dedicated it to the villagers of Thangapat Mapal and said that Assam Rifles is widely acclaimed as 'Friends of Manipur' and being co-located in and
around Imphal.
30 Assam Rifles and 9 Sector Assam Rifles have developed cordial relations with the locals including a number of social organisations as well as village committees.
The inauguration was also attended by Brig AK Gupta, Deputy IG, IGAR(S), Brig MK Das, SM**, VSM, Commander 9 Sector Assam Rifles, civil dignitaries of the area and the villagers, it added.
