Medical camp held

In continuation of series of health camp under its project titled "Humanitarian Support to People Affected by Conflict in Manipur", Women Action for Development (WAD) with the support of Actionaid and ECHO organized a one day free medical camp at Tokpaching High School, Tokpaching village under Thoubal district on April 5 .
According to a statement, the health camp was aimed at spreading health awareness to the people affected by various conflicts in Manipur.
During the health camp WAD was able to disseminate the importance of the project.
In the past WAD has conducted at least seven health camps in different part of Thoubal district benefiting more than 1300 patients directly.
A team of medical practitioners including Dr Th Binita, Dr H Morish and Dr H Kherojit from Kakching Khunou Primary Health Centre along with nurses provided their valuable service.
Apart from the free health checkup, medicines were also provided to the patients free of cost.
A number of conflict affected persons who were suspected to have psychological problems were also screened by the trained care-givers of WAD.
