Hr Sec schools for all ACs in offing: Okendra

Education Minister M Okendro has announced that the Government has decided to set up a higher secondary school in all the Assembly Constituencies.
He was speaking as chief guest at the 5th M Manindra Memorial Meritorious Award distribution function organised at INA Hall, Moirang today.
The award was sponsored by M Manindra Memorial Trust, and M Prithiviraj and family.
The Minister said, the Government has a new plan to set up higher secondary schools in all the ACs where there is no higher secondary schools.
The cooperation of the people is necessary in addition to the effort of the Government for the improvement of education system, the Education Minister observed.
He also said, comparing to previous years students of some Government schools have passed Class 10 and 12 examinations 100 percent this time apart from many students passing in the first division.
It is an indication of improvement in the condition of education though due care must be taken.
The infrastructure of every schools in the State need to be improved.
Overwhelming increase in submission of admission forms in Government schools for 2013-14 academic session is due to the support of the people, Okendro asserted and added that effort is on to convert Moirang Multipurpose Higher Secondary School into a residential school under the financial assistance of NEC.
He continued that it is time to shun taking political advantage in educational fields and that the condition of education would be improved when there is no politics in it.
Playing politics in the transfer and posting of teachers have resulted in the degradation of schools located in far-flung areas.
Efforts are being made to to hand over 'come-back order' in advance while issuing transfer order to teachers.
Efforts are also underway to provide training by 2015 to those teachers recruited by the Govt after September 2001 and so the DIET centres in every districts will be made active, the Minister added and assured that the number of teachers and infrastructure of the schools will be made sufficient.
The function was presided over by Kh Ratankumar, Works Minister and attended by T Mangibabu, MLA Thanga AC; H Bira, MLA Kumbi AC and Prithiviraj, MLA.
The occasion witnessed meritorious award distribution to 304 students, and gifts presented to N Binarani, a student of Moirang Multipurpose Hr Sec School who secured highest mark Statewide in Elective Manipuri and its Principal S Kumar for producing 100% pass percentage.
