Imphal, May 23 2009:
Removal of garbages from Khwairamband Bazar and its surrounding area in Imphal city has resumed from today morning.
The work was resumed under the direct supervision of Chairperson of Imphal Municipal Council.
In all four JBCs and nine Tipper trucks have been pressed into service for removal of the garbage mounts from along the road side of Nagamapal, near Kasturi bridge and Pratap Talkies as well as behind Family Welfare Department.
Clearing off garbages from Khwairamband and its surrounding area had been stopped by the Imphal Municipality for some days following objection to dumping of the garbages in the ground of KRYPSA located at Iroisemba.
The matter, however, has been resolved.
