Imphal, January 22 2017:
The announcement of tickets by BJP has led to discontent among a section of its workers.
Hiyanglam, Wangkhem and Thoubal AC BJP Mandal workers today stormed the BJP office at Nityaipat Chuthek at around 11:30 am holding placards inscribed with slogans like, "We want just selection", "Select candidate on merit basis", "We condemn BJP Ticket Committee", etc.

Some of the party worker have claimed that the Ticket Committee has totally disregarded the hard works and dedications of some of its workers and allotted party tickets to new members.
Demanding the State BJP leaders to explain their conduct, large number of Hiyanglam, Wangkhem and Thoubal AC BJP Mandal workers today tried to storm the BJP office with a hope to meet the party leaders.
They were stopped by the Police who explained that Sunday is an off day for the office.
Speaking to media persons, BJP Thoubal AC Mandal worker Leishangthem Thaja said aspiring BJP candidate Leishangthem Suresh is the only qualified BJP candidate in the AC that has a chance against the Chief Minister.
Questioning why the party ticket was allotted to Leitanthem Bhim, Thaja said, not only is Bhim new to the party, he does not have required qualification to contest as the BJP candidate.
"There is corruption within the party.
The selection of a non-qualified person as a candidate proves it", she said.
BJP central leaders should allot party tickets to only the deserving and hard-working candidates.
If Leitanthem Bhim secures the party ticket, BJP will be scored out from the AC.
Hiyanglam AC BJP Mandal general secretary Yaikhom Toyaima also voiced discontent with the allotment of party ticket to Dr Yumnam Radheshyam.
He said Maibam Dhanbir is the most deserving BJP candidate of the AC.
"We came here today to demand allotment of party ticket to Maibam Dhanbir.
The party leaders should take back their decision immediately.
If Dhanbir does not get the party ticket, we will not only cease to support BJP, but also make sure that BJP does not win in Hiyanglam AC ever," he warned.
In Wangkhem AC, Oinam Haridas was named the BJP candidate.
Wangkhem AC BJP Mandal Minority president Md Jiwaiuddin said Laishram Kadamjit is the most deserving BJP candidate of the AC.
"We will not support BJP if Kadamjit do not get the party ticket.
How do the BJP leaders hope to remove corruption from the nation when they can't even remove it practice from within the party?" Jiwaiuddin queried.
