Achouba set to resign from Cong

Imphal, January 22 2017:
In a big blow to Congress party ahead of the ensuing State Assembly election, vice-president of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) Sagolshem Achouba will be resigning from the primary membership of the party and also from the post of vice-chairman of Khadi and Village Industries Board.
The annoucement was made during a political conference organised by S Acouba Election Committee at Wangoi Thounaojam Leikai today.
Addressing the gathering, Achouba who had served as a treasurer of MPCC said that the decision was taken in tandem with the wish of Wangoi people.
He declared that the resignation paper will be submitted to the officials concerned tomorrow.
Saying that his political career started from Congress party, he recalled the undeniable role taken by him in renovation of MPCC complex in the past.
Achouba said that he is all set to contest the forthcoming election from another political party which would be accepted by the people of the constituency.
He also declared that he will retire from politics if he does not get the blessings and support of people of the constituency.
