Jiribam, March 16 2018:
Many drivers who carry FCI goods from Jiribam to Imphal have sought immediate attention of the State Government to repair the bailey bridge inNungdolan along NH 37 (Jiri-Imphal road) which broke down on March 4 .
Owing to the unfortunate incident, at least 140 FCI vehicles have been stranded at Leingangpokpi in Jiribam, reports our correspondent.
An alternate road bypassing the bridge was also damaged due to the rainfall in the past two days which once again halted the loaded trucks from passing.

The drivers carrying goods from Jiri to Imphal and vice versa along with 200 loaded trucks have been left stranded at Nungdolan for three to four days.
Speaking to media persons, one of the stranded drivers stated that they carry the FCI goods for 2-3 trips in a month but they could increase the number of trips if the State Government provides escorts for the drivers.
The drivers expressed that the grievances have also been relayed to the All Jiribam Transport Driver Union and further urged the authorities concerned to hear the grievances of the drivers and repair the bridge at the earliest to ensure normal transportation of the FCI goods.
