Seminar on quality education and positive parenting held

UNACCO School, Meitram Makha Leikai, Imphal West organized a seminar on the topic "Quality School Education & Positive Parenting" at its premise today.
Imperial School, Tanzania CEO and UNACCO School Principal Adviser Arup Mukhopadhay, preschool expert and Oberoi International School, Mumbai coach Khushbu Gajakas, UNACCO School Chairman N Irabanta Singh and Ashutosh Rastogi, Principal UNACCO School, Meitram among others attended the function as the presidium members and resource persons.
Speaking at the function, Arup Mukhopadhay pointed out the adverse impacts of the contemporary education system, which presents a cut throat competition among students.
He said that parents, teachers and all concerned, should come out of this kind of education system saying that it (the said education system) makes the children, who fail to fulfil the wishes of their parents, the victims.
Stating that the education system in the present days no longer have room for inculcating certain aspects like socialization, logical thinking and other life related things to the students, the Principal Adviser contended that it is essential to ensure that students learn enthusiastically and deservingly in academic education.
Khushbu Gajakas underscored the importance of making parents and children conscious about what is happening around the world and emphasizing more on developing life skills, such as creativity, competence and logical thinking among students while imparting education.
She observed that parents need to go beyond text books and ask the right and comprehensive questions to their children while dealing with them.
Irabanta noted that education is the foundation and backbone for ensuring a society is prosperous and peaceful.
Maintaining that the world has changed a lot from the past and will change a lot in the next 20 or 30 years, the Chairman also stressed on the need for grooming students with wider scope of education so that they will be able to meet the requirements in their future.
