AR organises veterinary medical camp

Imphal, February 10 2019:
Tulihal Battalion of 9 Sector AR, under the aegis of IGAR (South), with the assistance of 14 Mobile Field Veterinary Hospital (MFVH), 3 Army Dog Unit and Department of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry, Manipur conducted a day long free veterinary camp at Meitram village today.
A team comprising of one officer and two nursing assistants of the Indian Army, along with three doctors and four nursing assistants from Animal Husbandry Department, provided free medical treatment to the livestock of the locals.
Livestock from around 20 villages were administered free medical treatment along with providing medicine and vaccination.
Approximately 1500 animals were provided medicines and vaccination during the camp.
Dr Laishram Gojen Singh, Deputy Director, Department of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry, also voluntarily participated in the veterinary medical camp to support the good cause for welfare of people.
He not only rendered free medical assistance but also delivered a lecture on the various diseases affecting the animals and their preventive measures.
The villagers conveyed their heartfelt gratitude to Assam Rifles for extending these services and for the provision of free medical treatment and medicines for their livestock and pets.
They also requested the Assam Rifles to continue organising such medical camps in future as well.
