The Shanao Long (Women's League), Tusom Christian Village seized local blended liquor (Ashaaba) of more than 100 litres and imposed fine of Rs 500 to the concerned person and also were forced to leave the village to their native village for violating their rules.
According to them, the liquor was brought from Somra for selling in the neighbouring villages of Tusom area.
Since this is illegal as per their rules and regulations of Tusom Christian Village, the accused were forced to leave the village.
Apart from this, the seized items were destroyed.
The Women's League has been taking initiative for the last few years and continuing till date.
The president of the Women's League said that in 2009 alone they seized more than 1000 litres of liquor.
She also appealed to all the concern citizen of Tusom to extend co-operation to prevail peace and harmony in the region.
